Membership

Being a member of West Berkshire Conservative Association means that you have joined the most open and democratic political party in Britain. After the first three months of your membership, you will be entitled to a vote in Party ballots including voting for the next leader of the Party. Some of the advantages of membership are:

- Voting for Party Leader
- Helping choose candidates for Parliamentary, local Government and European elections
- Influencing Party policy by letting us know your views via the CPF (Conservative Policy Forum)
- Attending Party Conferences
- Enjoying discounts from our Affinity Programme
- Receiving regular email updates

Any person living in the United Kingdom is eligible to join the Conservative Party. Applicants are not required to be registered voters or UK nationals. There is no upper or lower age limit on membership, although children under the age of 15 cannot be enrolled as full voting members. We must capitalise on this current resurgence, and strive for a larger, stronger and co-ordinated membership.

There is no longer a minimum subscription for membership of the Conservative Party, but we recommend £25 per person, or £5 for someone under 22 years.  This allows us to maintain an office and undertake political campaigning to win elections. That said, money should not be a ban to membership and we are very grateful for whatever people can afford.  You can join NOW by clicking on the link to the left of this page. An increasing number favour payment by monthly or annual standing order; this is an efficient trend that we encourage. If you would like to do this, or to pay by cheque, then please click on the link below, print out the Membership Form and send it to our office: 6 Cheap Street, Newbury RG14 5DD.

We also offer two other levels of membership: Patrons and Benefactors.  These memberships have increased benefits such as the Patrons' Reception and the Benefactors' Dinner.  If you would like more information about these memberships, please contact Lizzy Carter Shaw on 01635 40786 or email the office.
